Residential Learning Communities
Our Living & Learning Communities (LLCs), Language Houses and Interest Communities offer students the opportunity to live with others who share similar interests, identities, or academic passions. These communities extend learning beyond the classroom by fostering connection, collaboration, and personal growth through shared experiences, programs, and intentional engagement.
Students interested in any LLC, Language House, or Interest Communities may update their preferences via Housing Portal.

Living & Learning Communities
Living & Learning Communities (LLCs) are on-campus residential communities that bring together students who share common interests, academic themes, or social identities. Students in LLCs live together while engaging in intentional experiences, programs, and community expectations that support both personal growth and academic success. These communities are designed to foster meaningful connections, deepen engagement, and create a sense of belonging within the residential experience.
Multicultural House, affectionately known as “The Glass House”, is a vibrant multicultural living community dedicated to identity, expression, and empowerment. Open to continuing (2nd- and 3rd-year) students, this space centers the experiences of BIPOC students and fosters dialogue, learning, and belonging through cultural celebration and community building.
Residents engage in cultural events, social justice workshops, and collaborations with the Butler Center and other campus partners. Whether you’re passionate about activism, cultural heritage, or inclusive leadership, the Glass House provides a supportive space to grow, lead, and celebrate the diverse voices that make Colorado College strong.
Nationhood Collective is a community dedicated to the exploration and expression of the traditional and contemporary aspects of Native American and Indigenous intellectual, social, cultural, and spiritual life on campus. The 3rd floor of Lennox will be the designated space for Nationhood Collective.
Discover adventure, connection, and leadership through the great outdoors! The Outdoor Education Living & Learning Community (LLC) invites 1st-year (Mathias) and 2nd-year (South) students to explore the natural beauty surrounding Colorado College while building confidence and teamwork through hiking, camping, climbing, and service projects.
Whether you’re new to outdoor activities or a seasoned adventurer, this community helps students grow as leaders, stewards, and collaborators. Through hands-on experiences and partnerships with CC’s Outdoor Education program, members develop lifelong skills in resilience, sustainability, and service, all while building a tight-knit, supportive community that thrives on shared exploration and purpose.
The PRIDE Living & Learning Community is a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ students and allies to connect, learn, and celebrate queer life at Colorado College. Designed for 1st-years in Mathias Hall. This community creates a home where all identities are seen, respected, and supported.
Through educational programs, social events, and partnerships with the Butler Center and LGBTQIA+ campus groups, residents build understanding, advocacy, and belonging. Whether you’re exploring your identity, building allyship, or looking to be part of an affirming community, PRIDE offers a foundation for growth, connection, and celebration.
Continuing PRIDE builds on the foundation of the first-year PRIDE experience, offering a space for returning students to deepen their engagement with LGBTQIA+ identity, leadership, and advocacy. Open to 2nd- and 3rd-year students, this community fosters mentorship, empowerment, and meaningful collaboration across campus.
Residents of Continuing PRIDE work together to create inclusive events, support peer development, and advocate for visibility and representation. This is a space for connection, leadership, and action, where students continue to celebrate who they are while shaping for a stronger, more inclusive CC community.

Language Houses
Language Houses
There are six houses that provide a cultural and academic focus on a language and its associated cultural experiences. These houses are open to sophomore and junior students and are collaboration with the Language departments. Residents have the opportunity to engage with the language and culture through programs, events, and community partnerships connected to each house.
The language themes include Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Chinese/Japanese.
The Japanese & Chinese House celebrates the languages and diverse cultural traditions of East Asia. Residents participate in cultural events, shared meals, and community experiences that honor both heritage and modern perspectives.
Location: Elf House
The French House offers a space to explore cultures across continents. Through events, conversation, and community connection, residents deepen their appreciation for the global impact of the French language.
Location: Haskell
The German House highlights the rich cultural traditions, history, and contemporary influence of German-speaking countries. Residents connect through cultural programming, food, and shared experiences.
Location: Max Kade
The Italian House centers the language, art, and traditions of Italy and Italian-speaking communities. From culinary experiences to cultural celebrations, residents build community through shared exploration
Location: Elbert House
The Russian House explores the history, literature, and contemporary culture of Russian-speaking regions. Residents engage in meaningful dialogue and programming that broaden global understanding.
Location: Mullett
The Spanish and Portuguese House celebrates the cultures, histories, and traditions of Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking communities around the world. Residents engage in vibrant programming, shared meals, and cultural experiences that bring the language to life.

Interest Communities
Interest Communities
Interest Communities are residential spaces centered around a shared interest, passion, or topic. While less academically focused than Living & Learning Communities, these communities offer students the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests and to participate in programs and experiences that reflect the community’s theme. Interest Communities emphasize connection, exploration, and community engagement within a supportive residential environment.
All Women Community provides a supportive residential environment for students who identify as women. This space centers connection, empowerment, and shared experience, creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue, and community-building.
Students in this community value a living environment grounded in respect, affirmation, and mutual support.

The Expression of the Arts Community is designed for students who are passionate about creativity in all its forms visual arts, music, theater, dance, writing, and beyond.
This community encourages artistic exploration, collaboration, and inspiration within a vibrant residential setting. Whether you are majoring in the arts or simply love to create, this space celebrates imagination and shared creative energy.
This community is located in: McGregor Hall
The Substance-Free Community is for students who choose to live in an environment free from substances of their choice. This community supports students’ wellness goals and promotes a lifestyle rooted in intentional decision-making and mutual accountability. Residents value a living space where social connection, fun, and belonging are not centered around substance use.

Note: Substance free and 24- Hour Quiet are combined.
The 24-Hour Quiet Community is ideal for students who prefer a consistently calm and low-noise living environment. Quiet hours are set and upheld by the community to support rest, reflection, and focused study.
This community is built on shared responsibility, respect for one another’s space, and a commitment to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
