NSO Pre-Arrival Checklist
The NSO 2026 Pre-Arrival Checklist is LIVE!
Before you arrive to campus this Fall, there are several forms and tasks that you must complete over the summer - what we refer to as your Pre-Arrival Checklist. The Pre-Arrival Checklist outlines everything you must do or are recommended to do prior to your arrival on campus in the Fall. The Checklist is divided into two sections: Required Items and Recommended Items. Required Items are exactly that – required for everyone to complete and most items have the same deadline of June 29th. Please explore the Recommended Items, as each task depends on a student’s needs and situation, and the deadlines vary – also there are a few items on the Recommended checklist that are still required to be completed, so be sure to read through it all carefully! You can access your individualized checklist inside your Applicant Portal, and as you complete Required tasks, they will be checked off your list (does not apply to Recommended Items).
Once you receive your CC Credentials (around May 11th), please log into your Applicant Portal to complete these items on your Pre-Arrival Checklist.
If you are participating in a program that requires Early Arrival (The Bridge Program, International Student Orientation, pre-season Athletics, etc.) please check with program administrators as some checklist items may have earlier due dates. Regardless of your arrival date, you are expected to have all of your pre-arrival checklist items completed prior to moving onto campus.
While summer schedules can prove challenging, we encourage all students to complete these forms on their own, as no one knows you better than you know yourself. Allowing your parent, friend, or family member to complete these forms on your behalf can lead to roommate mismatches and First-Year Program course surprises.
Should you be unable to complete a checklist item by the due date, please contact the appropriate office in advance of the deadline to make necessary arrangements for form submission; notifying us after the deadline has passed may mean we are unable to accommodate your requests.

Priddy Experience
The Priddy Experience takes place during the week of NSO / WSO and provides a unique orientation experience for each incoming student. “Priddy” as it is more commonly known, is often the highlight of a student's introduction to Colorado Springs and helps ease their transition to college. Students are placed into smaller “Priddy Groups” of 10-12 students and participate in half day Service, Local, and Outdoor programs; students work closely with a variety of non-profit organizations to give back to the community, explore the region as a group, and immerse themselves in the local community by exploring downtown and hiking the trails in our nearby parks and open spaces.
Throughout these days together, groups begin building relationships with their fellow classmates and gain insight from their upper-class leaders. Group reflections and discussion surrounding academics and the culture at CC are a large part of the program and provide opportunities for incoming students to begin goal setting and preparing for their upcoming first year of college. We hope that through the Priddy Experience, we can create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all incoming students.
So we have all the information we need to place you into your Priddy group, be sure to complete your Priddy Experience registration in Summit by June 29!
Key Terms
Here are a few important expressions to understand for orientation:

Housing & Room Assignment Process
In the next two months, the Office of Housing & Residential Experience will make over 500 room assignments for the incoming class! To help us accomplish this complex but exciting task, it is your responsibility to do the following:- Step 1: Application
- The Application opens on May 13th to begin applying for housing via the Student Housing Portal. This includes providing demographic information, Emergency/Missing Person Contact, Housing Preferences and LLC requests.
- Step 2: Contract
- Your housing contract will be ready to sign starting May 20 inside the Student Housing Portal.
- You must accept the terms and conditions of the 2026-2027 Housing Contract. This agreement is a legally binding document, and your electronic acceptance of the terms serves as a signature on that document. Failure to accept the agreement will delay your housing placement.
- The contract must be signed before participating in roommate matching and room assignment.
- Step 3: Roommate Matching
- Available in the Student Housing Portal from June 5 - June 30.
- Please take time to answer the questions thoughtfully to assist us in assigning a roommate compatible with your lifestyle routines. We utilize answers to these questions in order to make room assignments.
- If you have a preferred roommate already selected, you will be able to create a roommate group in the Student Housing Portal.
- Roommate matching is only available to students who have signed the contract.
- Step 4: Room Assignment
- Room assignments will be emailed to your CC email from Housing & Residential Experience in Mid-July!
Accessibility Resources and Housing
Students requesting disability-related housing accommodations from Accessibility Resources should follow the timeline:
- Meet with an Accessibility Resources staff member by June 20. Email accessibililtyresources@coloradocollege.edu to set up an appointment.
- Complete the Housing Accommodation Request Form and submit documentation of disability by June 30 (more information will be provided during the meeting with Accessibility Resources staff).
Students who complete the process by the above timeline will be notified of a decision via CC email in mid-July. Students who request and are approved for a disability-related housing accommodation after these dates may be placed on a waitlist until an appropriate space becomes available.
Living and Learning Communities (LLCs)
Driven each year by student interest, Colorado College has several Living and Learning Communities in which incoming students can participate. These communities focus on different topics of learning, interest, or identity, allowing students to live and learn with others with similar passions or experiences. Students in these communities live and learn together, making it easier to meet new people and feel connected.
All LLCs for new students are in the main residential areas, called the “Big 3”. These halls have additional spaces like lounges and kitchens where students can gather and form connections! Each community also has a dedicated Resident Advisor (RA) to support the community. For more information about these communities please visit the Living and Learning Communities section of the Housing & Residential Experience Website.
The 2026-2027 LLCs are:
-
The Outdoor Education community is committed to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and leadership of students through outdoor and community service experiences. The Outdoor Education community is in Mathias Hall and is an all first-year community.
-
The Pride Community is a community committed to enhancing knowledge and education around gender and sexual diversity. This is a community dedicated to celebrating queer life on campus. The Pride Community is located in Mathias Hall with an all first year community.
-
The 24- Hour Quiet & Substance Free Community in Loomis Hall holds specific community expectations around quiet hours and substance use.
-
The All Women Communities are open for all women-identifying students. The first year all women's community is in Loomis Hall.
LLCs are a fantastic way to start building your community at Colorado College, and we hope you will consider if one might be a fit for you!
Assignment Availability
All housing assignments and roommate information will be sent to your CC email and listed in the Student Housing Portal in Mid-July - so keep an eye on your email!
While the assignment process is underway, please visit the Housing & Residential Experience website to learn more about our residence halls. Typically, new students are assigned to one of our traditional halls, Loomis, Mathias, or South. To learn more about the Big 3 visit On Campus Housing Options.
If you have any questions or need assistance in the meantime, you can reach the Housing team at housing@coloradocollege.edu.
Immunization Records
An important part of our efforts to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone in the CC community is documenting immunizations and certain health information. Therefore, all incoming students are required to provide a Colorado Certificate of Immunization and complete the Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire prior to move-in.
Please provide a scanned copy of each document, not a photo.
- Official record of immunization from a medical provider or practice* including documentation of:
- Two valid doses of MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) with dose two at least 28 days after dose one.
- Students may also submit documentation of laboratory confirmed positive titers for MMR or a certificate of exemption following Colorado’s process as outlined by CDHPE’s Exemption to school-required vaccines
- Meningococcal (MenACWY or MCV4) vaccine on or after 16th birthday AND within the last 5 years (from residential move-in date), or
- Students may also submit a signed Meningococcal Disease Information and Vaccine Waiver found on page 2 of the Colorado Certificate of Immunization
- Two valid doses of MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) with dose two at least 28 days after dose one.
*It is preferred that students submit the Official Colorado Certificate of Immunization for College or University form . Other accepted immunization records include documentation from CIIS (Colorado Immunization Information System) or other state public health immunization platform, an immunization record from another state, county, municipality, country, or regional public health authority, or a record from a medical practice on official letterhead and/or signed by a medical provider.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Questionnaire completed within the 6 months prior to arrival on campus, with the signature of your health care provider.
- Part 1 is completed by the student. If ANY question in Part 1 is answered with YES, Parts 2 and 3 must be completed by a health care provider. This PDF is fillable or can be printed and completed by hand.
As your immunization forms are to be completed and signed by your healthcare provider, please make an appointment with your provider soon in order to have this form completed by the July 15 deadline.
More information about the immunization requirements and the required forms can be found on the Student Health & Wellbeing website.
Academic Interest Survey
To help us better understand your academic interests and tailor your course placement, please take a moment to answer a brief survey in your Applicant Portal.
Near the beginning of August, you will receive an email with your Faculty Advisor, Hub Advisor, and your fall course schedule. You must remain enrolled in the CC100 and CC120 in which you are placed, but you can change your remaining two courses once you arrive on campus to begin the fall semester. More information on the add/drop process will be sent in August along with information on how to view your fall schedule.
Registration for transfer students is done in consultation with Kieran Bennett, Advising Hub transfer advisor. Please contact Kieran directly (kbennett@coloradocollege.edu) to register for your fall courses. It is not necessary to complete the Academic Interest Survey.
Billing Information & Due Dates
Once you have your Banner credentials, please log in and complete the following tasks:
- Sign into online Billing Portal (go to Banner SSB and click on Billing and Payments link) and accept the financial agreement.
- Go to Authorized User Tab and set up parents to view billing information (if desired).

Federal Direct Loan Application Process
When a student accepts the Federal Direct Stafford Loan on their award OR if they submit a separate application to apply for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan for the first time, they will need to complete the following TWO steps to meet federal requirements before Colorado College will originate the loan with the Department of Education.
- Step 1: Entrance Counseling for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan:
- In compliance with federal requirements, students who are borrowing for the first time at Colorado College must complete an online entrance counseling session before funds could be credited to their account. This session helps students understand their rights and responsibilities when borrowing this loan.
- Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling Session
- Step 2: Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan:
- The MPN is the legal agreement that the student will repay the loan in the future. The student will be required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and will only be required to complete the MPN once while attending Colorado College.
- Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Math Self-Assessment
This summer, incoming students can take a free math self-assessment. We highly recommend completing this assessment over the summer and bringing your results when you meet with your advisor during New Student Orientation. This will help us customize your initial “starter” course schedule to better match your needs.
Completing this self-assessment based on your current knowledge (without the help of the internet, AI, or any other external resources) will help us know where you are starting so that we have proper resources to help you in your classes (not just math). Your ALEKS account is also a tool with modules to review and refresh topics from the assessment. Despite wording on the ALEKS website, at Colorado College this assessment is not a placement test.
The assessment takes about 60-90 minutes. Find an uninterrupted, quiet time period and location to complete the assessment. You may take it up to 5 times, and practice with the ALEKS modules or other resources between tests. When you are finished, you will see your score, including breakdowns on different topics. Target scores for calculus 1 at CC are above about 70-75. If your score is lower, you will see areas in the pie diagram where you can review concepts and improve in preparation for calculus 1. To prepare for calculus, CC also has other courses and modules here for practice on key topics.
To register, please follow these directions carefully:
To begin the assessment after completing the tutorial, click "GET STARTED":
To request disability-related accommodations for this assessment (e.g., extended time), please contact the The Office of Accessibility Resources at least several days prior to taking the assessment. You can reach Accessibility Resources by email at accessibilityresources@coloradocollege.edu) or at (719) 227-8285. Please direct other questions about the ALEKS assessment to Steve Getty at SGetty@coloradocollege.edu.
Student Health Insurance Enrollment/Waiver
All students are required to have health insurance while attending Colorado College. Proof of coverage is required annually. The 2026-2027 health insurance enrollment and waiver period will open July 3, 2026, and close on August 31, 2026. All students must either enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or waive coverage, providing proof of other insurance.
Students are encouraged to complete the enrollment or waiver process as soon as possible to ensure prompt health coverage and that their student account accurately reflects financial obligations. Students who do not complete the waiver process by the opt-out deadline of August 31, 2026, will be auto-enrolled in SHIP and their student account will be charged the fall premium.
SHIP is billed by semester:
- Fall $2,081 for coverage August 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026
- Spring/Summer $2,894 for coverage January 1, 2027 – July 31, 2027
Total annual cost = $4,975.00
Enrolling in SHIP ensures that students have comprehensive health coverage while at CC and includes visits to the UCHealth Student Health Center with no copay. For more information on SHIP coverage: Health Insurance: Student Health & Wellbeing
**Incoming first-year students will not have access to the SHIP waiver/enrollment portal until they are registered for class at CC, sometime between the end of July and the first week of August. The SHIP deadline is not until August 31.Next Steps
In July, we will let you know the following:
