Registration

Rising seniors who are declared majors in the Economics and Business Department can use the information below for registering for their two thesis blocks in the 2024-25 academic year.

If you are a declared major in the Economics and Business Dept., and you are writing a thesis in the Economics and Business Dept. in 2024-25, you will need to fill out the Thesis Registration form. The form deadline is April 16th, 2024 at midnight. 

If you want to work with a specific professor as your Thesis Advisor, contact them to indicate your interest. Check out this list of Faculty Thesis Advisor Areas of Interest and Research. Pro tip: check the blocks that your preferred professor is taking thesis students.

2024-25 Course Schedules: The course schedules below are included here as tools to help rising seniors in planning next year's schedule - and to help in the completion of the 2024-25 Thesis Registration form, above.

Important things of note:

1. Thesis is a 2-block class, that is supervised by a faculty thesis advisor during blocks 1-6.
2. Students must meet the prerequisites for thesis prior to the start of the first thesis block.
3. During preregistration, you will enter "GS391" in both thesis blocks you are assigned.
4. Full-time faculty (except those on sabbatical) in the Economics and Business Department will supervise thesis students. 

Submission

Economics & Business Department theses are turned in via online submission through Digital CC Thesis Submission. Login using your normal CC single-sign-on credentials and complete the entry fields to submit your thesis.

After clicking Submit, you and your advisor will each receive an automated email confirming submission. Within a week your thesis will be approved and published to digitalCC and you'll receive another email with the record link.

Presentation

Each year the Economics & Business Department holds its annual Spring Research Symposium on the first Friday of Block 8, as an opportunity for all students who have created research during the academic year to present their research. 

Many thesis students are required to present their thesis for a grade and many faculty thesis advisors will expect that presentation to occur at the Symposium.
