Topics in Creative Writing: Creative Response: Writing in Conversations with Others

  • In this class, we will engage with other artists’ work by creating our own. We will explore other writers’ use of form, diction, and rhetoric by adopting them ourselves. We will incorporate visual art as well as the written word in this exploration of the ongoing conversation between artists that makes up the dance of tradition and revolution.

Topics in Creative Writing: The Moving Line

  • The Moving Line provides students with an in-depth exploration of creative practice. Drawing on two disciplines, creative writing and calligraphy, and incorporating practices designed to enhance mindfulness, Professors Jane Hilberry and Barbara Bash lead students in exercises that connect them with their own creative resources and energies.
