BioHi! My name is Mackenzie, and I’m from Denver, Colorado. I'm a big sister, cat person, and book and music fan. With a strong focus on social justice, I engage with the community in efforts surrounding refugee justice and housing equity. On Colorado College's campus, I am co-chair of Asian Student Union, co-chair of Colorado College Refugee Alliance, a tutor in the Writing Center, and the Student Director of the Bonner Fellowship. In addition to these responsibilities, I occasionally write for the Sounds of Colorado College blog and am about to embark on my IM innertube water polo journey!

Bio: Hello! My name is Luke and I’m from Denver, Colorado and excited to be in Colorado Springs for college! Throughout high school, I dedicated my time to political, educational, and advocacy. I interned with the Interfaith Alliance of Colorado for three years, where I designed state-wide congregational GIS maps, testified against discriminatory bills at the State Capitol, and facilitated youth workshops around interfaith sensitivity. I was also the Co-Chair of the Colorado Youth Diversity Conference, where I designed and facilitated a space for youth across Colorado to come together and organize around creating change in their local communities. Besides being a Bonner fellow, I compete on the Speech and Debate team and play saxophone in the Concert Band.  I hope to use my passion and experience to engage in communities across the Colorado Springs community!

Bio: Hello! My name is Loza and I'm originally from Ethiopia. I'm a neuroscience major here at Colorado College and I'm passionate about health and wellness and would love to go into the medical field one day! I enjoy pottery/ceramics, movies, soccer/tennis/basketball and spending time with family and friends.  I'm honored to be a Bonner Fellow and have gotten the opportunity to work with Penrose Hospital and D11 schools for Neuro and Science outreach.  I'm always interested in seeking out new engagement opportunities and I'm so excited to continue working and growing with the Bonner Fellowship to foster a deeper and more meaningful connection with my Colorado community!

Bio: Hello! My name is Phoebe Frankel and I consider a variety of places to be home. I have lived in California, Texas and was living in Princeton, NJ before I started CC! Beyond the classroom, you’ll find me immersed in the great outdoors, whether it's the   exhilarating rush of rollerblading or the serene beauty of skiing. I'm deeply passionate  about environmental education, and my journey has led me to partner with Catamount Institute, a non-profit dedicated to inspiring K-12 students through nature exploration.   There's nothing quite like witnessing the spark of excitement in young minds as they discover the wonders right outside their front doors. My experience in collaborating with the Colorado Springs community has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I am eagerly looking forward to continuing this meaningful engagement!

Bio: Hello, my name is Helena Almaw, and I am a pre-med third year here at CC! I am a neuroscience major, molecular biology minor, and on campus I am co-founder/secretary of Caribbean-African Student Union (CASU), and co-chair of Minority Association of Pre-health Students (MAPS). I’m partnering with Columbia Elementary School on a volunteer program that is centered in trauma-informed care and the neurosequential model to support the students in their behavioral health and their academic involvement, working more with each students’ needs. I am really excited to see this project develop and continue to work with public health and the community! Aside from my Bonner work, I love to dance and write poetry when I have the time.

Bio: Hi! My name is Evie Angevine and I am a senior international political economy major from Denver, Colorado. I am partnered with Citizens Project, where we work on increasing civic engagement through voter education and increasing accessibility. Increasing access to education and awareness around government is very important to me. I am also the secretary of the Bonner Leadership Team. The Bonner Fellowship has taught me so much about the importance of community and the value of investing and putting time into community work. I have loved learning more about Colorado Springs and feeling like I am an active community member through the Bonner Fellowship. Outside of Bonner, I play on the Colorado College ultimate frisbee team, Zenith, I also volunteer on a local political campaign. Additionally, I love to read, hike, play tennis, and spend time with my friends and family.

Bio: My name is Hunter and I am a mathematics major (with an intended focus in applied math and statistics). Currently, at CC, I'm a Bonner Fellow, but since starting in 2022, I have also been a QuestBridge Scholar and Bridge Scholar. My community organization that I partner with for Bonner is Daily Dose 719. Juelz Ramirez and I work together on multimedia and digital storytelling in the form of podcasts and vlogs done with other members of various groups of the community. My final Bonner Fellowship capstone for Daily Dose 719 will be my own contribution to the organization in the form of a short documentary-style vlog. Outside of Bonner and academics, I am involved with the United Math Club as a leader as well as a SCORE researcher with the Math and Computer Science Department.

BioHi! My name is Konrad and I’m a second-year international student from eastern Norway. My major is organismal biology & ecology and I plan to work in conservation biology in the future. I really enjoy working with my community partner, the Rocky Mountain Field Institute, as their work incorporates both my academic interests and my passion for community engagement. I help them with everything from environmental restoration and trailwork, to behind-the-scenes stuff in their office. Outside of work and academics, you can usually find me gaming in the esports lab or outside watching the (adorable!!!) campus squirrels.

BioHi! My name is Corinne and I’m from Ohio! Here at CC I’m an OBE major and I love all critters, especially fish! I’m also involved with Dance Workshop, Outdoor Education, and occasionally help out at the student farm. In my free time I love to read, hang out with my lovely friends, hike, bake, and run! I’m incredibly interested in both ecology and land-based education, which is why I work with Flying Pig Farm. At the farm I help with program support, upkeep, and co-manage their social media accounts. I’ve loved my work so much, and can’t wait to continue working with the community!

I've worked with organizations like Robbie's Hope, One Colorado, and Inside Out Youth Services to create content, fundraise, and problem solve. I get especially excited to combine my chosen academic areas of Film and Media and Feminist and Gender Studies to approach local issues that I am passionate about. On campus, beside being a Bonner Fellow, I play ultimate frisbee and write for campus publications.

BioHi! I’m Grace and I’m a sophomore neuroscience major on the pre-health track. I’m also an El Pomar scholar and a Bonner Fellow. Community engagement is something I’ve invested a lot of my time into throughout my life, working in areas like domestic violence and victim advocacy, medicine and healthcare, or simple volunteer work. I see it as an important aspect of who I am. Currently, I’m on the Bonner Leadership team and a victim advocate at A Voces Unidas here in Colorado Springs.

Bio: Hi! My name is Melissa Ramirez and I’m a second-year Bonner! Beyond academics, I enjoy watching TV/films, reading novels, exploring scenic spots, practicing pilates, painting, and trying tasty new foods. Outside CC, I reside in Illinois with my parents, an older brother, and a lively bunch of pets. As a Mexican-American, I cherish my Hispanic culture and actively immerse myself in it—savoring diverse foods, participating in cultural festivities, and reveling in various music genres. Since starting my partnership with Food to Power, I have never been more excited to go to work! I love my coworkers, meeting new people, and creating new projects for them. Working with FTP has made it possible for me to interact with many people, especially those less fortunate, and it has been a very humbling experience. By providing food and support services, I can contribute to the dignity and well-being of marginalized groups which is the most important goal that I desire to fulfill. I can’t wait to see what my future holds as I continue working with Food to Power!

BioHello! My name is Joaquin Romero, and I am a political science and environmental studies double major at Colorado College. I grew up in rural New Mexico in a town called Mora, where I learned the importance of community-oriented values and social justice. Currently, I'm partnered with the Justice Center who works on providing equal access to justice, by providing free/affordable legal advice and hosting educational community events. I'm really excited to be working with them as I am interested in environmental law for my future career. BioHi! I'm Alyna Truc from Wichita, KS. On campus, I'm an Admission Ambassador and an executive board member of the Asian Student Union. I'm also part of the Minority Association for Pre-health Students (MAPS) and work as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab studying zebra finches. As a Bonner Fellow working with Citizens Project, I assist with election forums, collaborate with BOE District 20, advocate for K-12 education, and support legislative forums. Off-campus, I enjoy hotpot in Denver and collecting plushies at Round 1!

I am a founder/co-chair of the service organization Circle K International (CKI) chapter on campus. I am currently partnered with the Golden Lotus Foundation, whose mission is to celebrate tradition and inspire passion for Asian heritage. They aim to develop an Asian Heritage Center, botanical gardens, pavilions, tea house, and Zodiac playground here in Colorado Springs! BioMy name is Landon Hartman, I’m a sophomore student here at Colorado College. I am on the Bonner Leadership Team and have been a member of Bonner since my freshman year. I am interested in studying pre-law here at CC, so for my community partner, I chose to work for the Family Immigration Services department for Catholic Charities of Central Colorado. My work with the fellowship focuses on supporting asylees and immigrants with gaining legal status in the United States. Here at CC, you can find me playing IM sports on the quad, reading, and crushing my competition at Board Game Club. In addition to my role as a Bonner Fellow, I also serve as an Outdoor Ed. Leader and a co-chair of the CC Sunrise Environmental Club.

CLS helps to provide free legal assistance to low-income Coloradans, which is incredibly beneficial to the community. BioHi! My name is Willow Lott and I’m a rising sophomore studying International Political Economy. I am also a member of the cross country and track teams, and mountain biking club! I am originally from Durango, Colorado and enjoy spending my free time trail running, mountain biking, rafting, climbing, skiing and eating charcuterie! I also direct a harm reduction policy campaign that expands access to Neloxone and Fentanyl test strips through legislative action. My Bonner partner is Citizen’s Project, a political advocacy organization located downtown. I work with them to expand local voter access through grant writing, policy drafting, advocacy and research! I am very passionate about civic engagement, and learn so much from my partner!
