Pi Mu Epsilon

The Colorado Epsilon Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon was established in May 2018 at Colorado College. Pi Mu Epsilon is a non-secret mathematical honor society whose purpose is the promotion and recognition of scholarly activity in the mathematical sciences among students at the academic institutions that have been chartered as Chapters of the Society. Members of Pi Mu Epsilon are selected on an honorary basis according to their interest, ability, and accomplishments in the field of mathematics. AWM

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is a non-profit organization founded in 1971. The Colorado College Chapter of AWM was founded in 2018. The purpose of AWM is to promote equal opportunity of women and girls in the mathematical sciences and to encourage diversity in the mathematical sciences. AWM meets at least once a block with the other math related clubs to plan and organize group activities and events. Activities by the Colorado College AWM chapter in the past include tea discussions with female CC alums, participation in the FemStem Symposium, visits to local industry workplaces, and Capitol Hill visits. SIAM

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a non-profit organization founded in 1952 and the Colorado College Chapter of SIAM was established in 2013. The primary goals of the student chapter of SIAM are to advance the application of mathematics and computational science to engineering, industry, science, and society as well as to promote research that leads to exciting new applications of mathematics. SIAM meets at least once a block with the other math related clubs to plan and organize group activities and events. A few examples of activities by the Colorado College SIAM chapter include: mathematical modeling workshops to prepare for the MCM (Mathematical Contest in Modeling) held each year, attendance at the SIAM National Conference, and game nights. Math Club

The Colorado College Math Club was formed in 2018 to promote the study and exploration of mathematics. One primary goal of the club is to provide an inclusive environment where the entire campus community can come together and learn about and practice mathematics. The club meets at least once a block with the other math related clubs to plan and organize group activities and events. A few examples of activities by the Colorado College Math Club include: blockly Student Series speakers who present on a wide range of mathematics, computer science, and mathematical economics topics at an introductory level, game nights, and math problem-solving sessions in preparation for the annual Putnam Exam. Coding Club

We help CC students get jobs and internships in the tech industry. Our club sponsors are tech companies from all over Colorado, who are always looking for talented coders. We take students on tours at companies, host CEOs and Engineers as guest speakers, and organize coding events and hackathons throughout the school year. Alumni of our club have gone on to work at companies like Google, Northrop Grumman, EY, Lockheed Martin, and Altia.
