Any one of the following courses may be used to replace one of the 200-level electives in the mathematics major:

• EC403 - Econometric Theory
• EC404 - Advanced Topics in Mathematical Economics
• EC406 - Mathematical Economics of Game Theory
• EC407 - Mathematical Economics of Growth
• EV212 - Energy: Environmental Thermodynamics and Energetics
• EV309 - Population Dynamics of Wild, Harvested, and Endangered Species
• EV333 - Atmospheric Dynamics
• PC251 - Introductory Modern Physics
• PC341 - Mechanics
• PC349 - Thermal Physics
• PC353 - Electromagnetic Theory
• PC357 - Astrophysics
• PC420 - Special Topics (General Relativity)
• PC441 - Quantum Mechanics I
• PC442 - Quantum Mechanics and Relativity II
Note that many of these courses have one or more non-mathematical prerequisites. However, faculty who teach these courses have expressed enthusiasm about having math majors take their classes, and some of them have indicated the willingness to waive prerequisites in some circumstances. If there is a class that you are excited about, please consider contacting the course instructor to inquire about the possibility of taking the class even if you don't have all of the prerequisites.
