Homecoming: CC '05 grads will discuss their paths to journalism

Colorado College graduates who have gone on to become top journalists at news organizations around the world make an impressive list.

This Homecoming Weekend, three of them — they all graduated in 2005 — will talk about their unique paths to the peak of professional journalism.

The Tiger triad will do so alongside student journalists currently involved with Cutler Publications.

Who? Politico Deputy Executive Editor Julia Marsh, former Bloomberg News Senior Reporter Heather Perlberg, and Issue One Senior Research Director Michael Beckel. Plus, current Outdoor Journal Editor Veronica Bianco, Cutler Publications President Ben Slater, and more.

What: Hear the CC grads talk about their journey from campus publications to professional journalism. They’ll be in dialogue with current students who work for our campus publications, and they’ll all take plenty of questions from the audience.

When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at the Southern Colorado Public Media Center at 720 N. Tejon.

Why: Because you’re a student interested in a potential path to professional journalism after college, you're a member of the public wanting to hear from and network with some top journalists in the business, or maybe you're an alum who wants one of them to sign an old copy of Cipher.

This event is hosted by the Colorado College Journalism Institute in partnership with Cutler Publications.

The Journalism Institute’s staffing, classes, and programming are currently possible only because of endowed and gift funds. If you would like to help support the CC Journalism Institute and its impact, please get in touch.
