Will Myers ’26 Earns Bronze at Collegiate Road Cycling Nationals

Will Myers ’26 placed third at the 2026 USA Cycling Collegiate Road Championships in the Men’s Club Criterium last month, taking home his first collegiate national medal.

“Getting on the podium at nationals felt like the payoff for all the work I’ve put in over these past four years at CC,” says Myers, who majored in History. “It was a little disappointing being so close to winning, but it was great to bring home a medal and get some recognition.”

Myers finished the race with a time of 1:18:32, securing his place on the podium among a group of 96 competitors.

Myers also competed in the Men’s Club Road Race, finishing 10th out of 94 with a time of 3:29:02.

Myers was proud to be the sole representative from CC and praised CC’s Club Sports staff for their support—especially Campus Recreation Athletic Trainer Christina Lorete and Chris Starr, Director of Recreation and Fitness Center.

“The Club Sports staff have been indispensable in helping me continue to progress over the years,” Myers says.

“Will has been a driving force behind the success of Colorado College’s Club Cycling team as their captain,” Lorete says. “His dedication and passion for the sport are shown in the way he has fostered student engagement, expanded the club’s presence, and managed the administrative responsibilities required of our Club Sports organizations.”

This was Myers’ third time competing at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships, and his most successful by far.

Last year, he finished 13th in the Men’s Club Criterium and did not finish in the Men’s Club Road Race following mechanical issues with his bike. In his sophomore year, he placed 29th in the Men’s Club Criterium and 62nd in the Men’s Club Road Race.

“I am hugely inspired and proud of Will, but it took an effort because he is so humble—I really struggled to find out how his season was actually going,” says Jim Sellars ’26, who co-captained the CC Cycling Team with Myers for three years. “It has been amazing to watch him and his leadership over the past years, and so fun to run the team with him.”

Myers recently moved home to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and plans to continue racing throughout this year.
