Molecular Biology
Major & Minor Requirements
The Department of Molecular Biology offers courses that help students understand living organisms at the molecular and cellular levels, with a focus on fundamental biological processes such as genetics and the inheritance and use of genetic information. Students develop critical thinking and scientific research skills through designing, conducting, and interpreting experiments, as well as developing and testing hypotheses involving organisms, cells, and molecules. The program also emphasizes applying molecular biology knowledge and problem-solving skills beyond the laboratory, preparing students to be informed and engaged global citizens.
For detailed program requirements and advising information, please refer to the Molecular Biology Advising Handbook available on the department website.
