CC President Publishes on Increasing College Affordability

Colorado College President Jill Tiefenthaler is one of three college presidents contributing to a recent article in The Conversation titled "Making College More Affordable."

The panel of presidents was asked, "What are the top two or three things that you believe need to happen to make college more affordable - particularly for low-income students, students of color, and the working class?" President Tiefenthaler, who holds a Ph.D. in economics and co-teaches The Economics of Higher Education with her husband, research professor Kevin Rask, authored the section titled "More Than One Funder Has to Step Up."

The article also includes a section titled "What Needs Discussing is the Total Cost of a Degree," by Eric J. Barron, president of Pennsylvania State University, and "The Importance of Pre-collegiate Preparation," by Reynold Verret, president of Xavier University of Louisiana.
