Date Location and Work Area Impact for Campus Community Project Manager
11/17 - 12/8 Cache la Poudre: Tejon -Dale

Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) will be performing utility work along Cache La Poudre over the next few weeks in preparation for a water main replacement project scheduled for 2027. This phase involves locating and potholing for underground utilities.
There will be no water shutoffs to campus buildings during this phase. However, the work will require temporary lane closures and restrictions on street parking.


Key Details:
Start Date: Pending city permitting, work is expected to begin Monday, November 17, or Tuesday, November 18.
Duration: Through the first week of December, with a goal to complete potholing by Friday, December 5.
Work Hours: Typically 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Parking Restrictions: No parking signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance. Restrictions apply Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.


Traffic Impacts:
Expect detours around the intersection of Cascade and Cache La Poudre the week of 12/2 - 12/5

224/226 Cache la Poudre

 Wells & West will be replacing doors at 918, 1010, and 1120 N. Weber, as well as 224/226 Cache la Poudre. Contractors will be on site from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

 We will be reusing the existing hardware, and no key changes are expected.

 Please anticipate some noise and contractor presence in these areas during this time.

Tutt Library

Due to recent flooding in Tutt Library, drying equipment is currently in place in the basement and on the 1st floor near the restrooms. AmeriDri will be onsite to check progress and may begin demolition of affected areas.

 Please be aware there will be loud construction noises in the basement and AmeriDri personnel working throughout the day.

Palmer Hall

During Winter Break/Half Block, contractors will be completing HVAC upgrades in Palmer Hall.

 Please see the schedule and impacts below.

  December 1 – December 17

  • Work in mechanical rooms 310 and 333 connecting condensing units

 No classroom spaces will be impacted before Winter Break and Half Block.

 December 18 – January 18 (Winter Break & Half Block)
Work will continue in the following spaces:

  • Faculty offices in Geology, History and Political Science
  • Labs: 010A, 010B, 010C, 010E
  • Classrooms: 016, 016A, 018, 022C, 216, 230, 232, 232A, 232B, 233B, 233C

 Additional activities include:

  • System pressure testing, troubleshooting, and fault correction
  • Building automation system controls addressing and programming

 Only the classrooms listed above will be affected during Winter Break and Half Block.
