Tutt Library goes live with a new Catalog

The library has a new way of accessing resources.

The library has been migrating to new systems this summer. The new systems replace the previous dated integrated library system. They will continue to provide access to library resources.

One system is for the catalog and related activities (purchasing, cataloging, borrowing, etc.). The Library has contracted with ByWater Solutions to host Koha, the first open-source integrated library system. Find out more about our host and read the story about CC from ByWater Solutions.

The other is a discovery system. Discovery systems provide a search interface for user to find information held in multiple library resources including the catalog, databases, repositories and the like. Tutt Library is using the EBSCO Discovery Service. It looks and functions like many of our subscription databases and will be familiar to many in our community.

These two systems will greatly improve the catalog and offer an entirely new ability to search articles, books, films, newspapers, and more simultaneously. These two systems work well together. You can access them from the Tutt Library homepage. You will still be able to search only the catalog via the Books & Media tab. And now, you will also be able to search almost all of our resources at the same time using the OneSearch tab.

There have been and may continue to be some interruptions and times of reduced service as we continue to bring these new systems online. Please contact the Research Desk or a librarian with any questions or access issues you have. The Research Desk is located on the 2nd floor of Tutt Library and can also be contacted by telephone, 719-389-6662, by email, and via chat from the Tutt Library homepage.
