This course allows students to engage in a close study of one specific genre of cultural production. The objective of this course is an in-depth focus on the formal qualities and characteristics of the genre under study. Courses may include, but are not limited to: the novel, the essay, the short story, poetry, theater, film, visual and/or performing arts, etc. Texts, expressive forms, geographical emphasis and time periods under study will vary depending on instructor. May be repeated once for elective credit with a different instructor and topic. 1 unit. (Not offered 2025-26).
