An introduction to engineering through a block-long, team-based project. Students will work in groups to design and build small power-generation devices, such as wind turbines. Aspects of mechanical and other engineering fields relevant to the project will be covered. In addition, the course covers standard engineering design review processes and the basics of computer aided design (CAD). This class is ideally suited for students who are interested in problem solving, designing, and project development. No other prerequisites are required.
