Theories of Teaching Writing
Introduces students to the 19th century and 20th century precedents for current practice in writing instruction at the post-secondary level. Examines the historical roots of post-secondary writing instruction and competing epistemologies driving classroom practices and academic and public visions of the writer, writing, and writing instruction. (Not offered 2022-23).
Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
